A dancer stands on tiptoe, both arms opened wide above her, her costume made of rows of beads and a close-fitting cap. She belongs to the series of Egyptian-inspired dancing figures with which the sculptors of Paris became famous in the twenties.

Fine craftsmanship and solid bronze
The figure is cast in solid bronze using the lost-wax process, each piece chased and patinated individually by hand. The golden brown patina is polished lighter along the rows of beads so belt, breastplate and cap remain visible from several metres away. It rests on a stepped base of dark marble.

Placement and effect
